Our Purpose
Our Vision
Reboot was born from a recognition that complex social problems require a collective response; a belief that this was possible by coproducing solutions with young people and their families collaborating across sectors and services ; and a desire to shift from crisis to prevention. We were excited to see where our vision would lead us.
Our Great Vision
Our journey of discovery in the last four years has allowed us – and others – to see the systemic landscape of Aberdeen from different perspectives. We have taken time to explore some particular areas in particular – youth homelessness, young people’s mental wellbeing, term-time leavers, and targeted and intensive support. Using young people as our guides, we have navigated through some difficult territory. By taking time to listen and engage, we have helped others to act in new and effective ways. As a result, places, organisations and systems have been changed with, by and for young people – collective response in action.
Why not read here about some of the explorations we have been on so far and here about what we have observed during our journey.
This is exactly where we should be, investigating the gnarly bits in the system.
There is a lot of theory that underpins this – it is real and concrete.
We need to talk about things that don’t work as much as things that do.
I felt stuck in the system and this was like a window opened and air came in
The workshops…brought together different people from various parts of the system to better understand the problems young people face but more importantly, how we can act and initiate change for the betterment of young people in the city
Working in [this project] was a completely different experience…we were allowed to bounce ideas off of each other and create something that is entirely made by young people with young people in mind
